About Us
The Prosper Chamber of Commerce has been building a stronger economy and a better business community since 1987. Today's agenda is more exciting than ever. Our paramount goal is making business better and more profitable for our membership.
The Chamber, through its leaders and membership, will constantly seek methods and procedures to help businesses new to Prosper and existing businesses to thrive in Prosper.
Our History
In December 2002, the Prosper Town Council charged the Prosper Economic Development Corporation with the task of reorganizing the Prosper Area Chamber of Commerce. An earlier Chamber had been chartered in July of 1987 but was not successful.
The first reorganization meeting was held on January 20, 2003 at the Cotton Gin Café with 15 persons attending. The original Articles of Incorporation were reactivated on July 9, 2003 and our current Chamber Bylaws were adopted in September 22, 2003 and amended in 2013.
The Chamber was organized to promote business and economic needs of a fast growing community in the shadows of the metroplex. The Prosper Chamber has been a friend in developing and supporting small business.
In forming a partnership with the Economic Development Corporation of the Town of Prosper, the Chamber has been able to help assist with the development of businesses as they inquire about the Town and availability of land.
The Chamber, the Town of Prosper, the Prosper Independent School District, the EDC and major community groups have come together to support mutual goals. All of the Chamber Board of Directors and Staff are active in the community and have major input into local organizations.
The Prosper Chamber has a can-do climate and a very positive and progressive attitude concerning businesses coming into the area. The leadership is enthusiastic about the growth and is taking the inevitable growth seriously. It is no secret why Prosper is sighted as a major growth area in the next few years.
